I want to have some info about a flowering shrub called "vrindavan champa". I have been told that the plant bears small, white flowers in racemes (I have not seen the flowers). But, in two nurseries I found the plants, having similar descrïptions, look different. In one case the leaves were ovate and in the other case oblanceolate.
Can anybody enlighten me about the plant please?

As far as I know the name and descrïption tallies with Citharexylum quadrangulare, a native of West indies but planted in many places in Kolkata. Presuming you live in Kolkata (from your id), one such location is the crossing of Bidhan Sarani and Raja Rajkrishna Street (Rupbani bus stop) in North Kolkata.

This is just to supplement Susmita's comment. Citharexylum quadrangulare is a synonym of Citharexylum spinosum, commonly known as Fiddlewood. It can grow into a tree, but is frequently cultivated as a potted plant with fragrant white flowers.

Never knew this plant could be cultivated in pots. Can you please tell me the pot size I would require?

I have seen it growing in a regular sized pot.
