Hi! I stay in Delhi and have only balcony space in my house for planting. This place gets a lot of sunlight from morning until about 4-5 p.m. Since the last three seasons I'am planting nasterciums, pansies and white petunias.Could you suggest something new to plant this august. It has to be hardy and with profuse flowering.I tried coloured petunias without success.

You can try  Four O'clock (Mirabilis jalapa). They are supposed to profusely bloom all summer long.
Some fancy varieties of Sadabahaar, Vinca - the ones with completely red flowers or  white with a red center may also not be a bad idea. You can always bank on them for color when the others have died out.

You may plant Achimenes, profuse flowering, small hebaceous perennial plants. They have underground tubers, available in nurseies. Aster amellus, short, profuse flowering plants in, puple, white, blue coloured flowers are too desirable. I do not know how to load the photographs here, else I would have postedpictures too.

I would suggest you to plant rain lilies... The amount of sunlight required is just right...and my experience of rain lilies is that you just sprinkle ample water in dry weather and they bloom with beautiful color...(pink, white and yellow) ..so u can get bulbs from some nursery and plant them right away...monsoon is specially good for these!..

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck. :-)
