Hello friends. Im new to this forum.

Im searching books for identifying the name of plant which we can see in India.

Right now I have Trees of delhi (Pradip Krishen) that is only english book I have and others are in Japanese in which some books has no color page and some book has full color but not for Indian plants which shows flower just commonly seen in Japan or other countries.

Of course there are many speices of flora in India so it might be difficult to say, but what would you recommend?

Could someone advise me the name of book, auther, publisher and place where book might be available as much as you know.

I live in Gurugaon right now, so I can access to Delhi easily.

There are numerous books, and of course, most of us can't afford to buy all of them.
For wild flowers in general, a good book is
Common Indian Wild Flowers by Isaac Kehimkar - Rs. 375.
Specific to flowers of Western Ghats, there are two books
Flowers of Sahyadri & Further Flowers of Sahyadri by Shrikant Ingalhalikar (but u won't find them in delhi bookshops)
For Himalayan flowers, the bible is Flowers of the Himalaya by Polunin & Stainton.
For garden flowers, no particular preferred book - use whatever is available.
And of course, you can always use flowersofindia.net to identify!

Thank you very much for your kind and useful advise.

I think I will buy Common Indian Wild Flowers as next book and will buy the rest of books before visiting respective place later.

Thank you.

I think that you get old magazines on Gardening, they are better than books
eg Horticultue,Indoor Gardening,etc.
I do Gardening the Eastern Way- No chemicals Required. Interested do let me know.

You can have a look in any large bookstore at 'Tropical Garden Plants' by Bose-Chowdhury-Sharma.  It is one of the best Indian publications today for quick reference and identification of most ornamentals.  I have all the Ingalhalikar and Kehimkar books which are better for wild flora, but BCS is the best overall.
