Dinesh, really good identification! One small point: I presume you thought that the Hindi name should be Pan Bel because of the paan-shaped leaves. However, I think the name Pani Bel comes from the fact that the watery sap of this climber is drunk by rural folks in the dry regions of Madhya Pradesh. Point well-made, Tabish ![]() At both sites ENVIS - FRLHT and Forest Flora of Andhra Pradesh it is mentioned as pani bel ... and I mistook it to be a typo carried all over.Thank you very much for the correction and for the clarification too. |
