The plant found in garden of a hotel resort; I think I saw the plant with few supports.

Thanks, regards.

Just by the fact that Citrus longilimon is called Assam lemon, Long-fruited lemon, Oblong lemon, I am tempted to consider it identified! But I guess we should wait for some reference.

Exactly! Somebody sure will recognize this fruit.

The words: oblong, long-fruited lemon are put by me, sheerly because it looks so. Searching by that name led to finding Assam lemon ... eventually to C. longilimon.
Unfortunately no photos of the fruit OR the so much tell-tale, pink-budded flowers !!

I too strongly hope it turns out so.

Tabish, this looks like Citrus medica as Dr Eby, one of my Flickr friend believes.

It does look like it ... only that I see the spines in my photographs not to be arising from leaf axils as described in FOI.

I think I will go with Eby. The axillary spines is mentioned at PIER species info. However, efloras.org says it is spinous, but doesn't say anything about axillary spines. Other things of C.medica agree with your pics, purplish buds being the most prominent one.
The pic on FOI could not be checked for spines or fruit. The id was based on the Manipuri name provided by people who know the plant.
I think your pictures provide a more complete picture. So I will use them for C.medica.
