I want to know about a flowering shrub called "Gulaabans".

Its a small shrub couple of feet high with long soft leaves which  narrowed towards the tip. It mostly spreads in clumps along he ground and has violet flowers. It was quite common in North India (UP) where it was called by that name. My grandma used to use the leaves for making a poultice for boils etc.

Can anyone help identify it here for me?
Thanks for your help.

Certainly, gulbakshi is a name given to this Mirabilis plant - however I am not very sure whether it is a name in Marathi.

Please click on the photograph for more information; we see that it is known at least in Hindi by this name.

Marathi-knowing friends may please put in comments.
