Hi everyone
I and vasant have been discussing about the following violas to be viola tricolor(V. cornuta is a synonym probably)

http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=9601755@N05&q=viola+tricolor&m=text

The question is whether these and Viola 'Jackanapes' on FOI ( http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Viola Jackanapes.html" )
are different varieties of the same species.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/plants/plantprofile_viola.shtml
tells us that all V. tricolor, V. cornuta, and V. 'Jackanapes' are different..

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck. :-)

Apart from zeroing in on the particular cultivar here, looks like we should have a better way of putting different cultivars on FOI.
