FIRST i would like to thanks....to all the team of flowers of india..for making me part of this forum and..also for doing a gr8 job in building up & updating this site with info of such beautiful plants..
i built a small garden on my terrace...which enhances the view of terrace and utilises the water (flowing as an overflow)...but all my plants,especially GUDAL,ROSES,DAHLIA..are destroyed by squirrels!!!   can anyone pls tell me a way to keep squirrels away!!!

hi,

you can try to find out a non toxic squirrel deterent. there are numerous plants such as the melia azadirach , which squirells detest... just spray solution made from the plant and your plants are SQUIRREL PROOF...

make sure that the solution has got a high concentration of the plant extract... [i]datura(dhatura)and ipomoea batatus(shakar-kandi)[/i](only the leaves) are also options you can consider... though be warned it is [s]poisonous to most mammals[/s], specialy humans...

TILL now i was using a temporary solution i.e; a pesticide...its foul smell was wrking...a lil bit...but i hve 2 spread that everyday after watering plants..and that was costly too...Rs.160/kg...

Just sprinkle Onion Juice mixed with water
Your plants will be immune to other pests as well
