I am here again... after due diligence and lot of effort...finally im able to manage seeds and germinate Baobab (adansonia digitata) of africa .... its awesome...

The flowers look awsome.....are they fragrant as well.Can we get this tree/sapling in Mumbai?

Flower is really awesome and I am not sure about the fragrance. Although I have experienced the other variety of the same family. Its quite good. (Adansonia FONY)In that case the flower was orange in color. I have seen it live when it was opening up. It takes only 2 mins to change from bud to flower in the evening. It attracts bats for pollination.

You may get a seedling from Delhi ( I know the place, the guy is having around 100 seedlings of around 3 feet height)

Chandrabhan if you havent got them already, take a trip down to the Byculla zoo but later in the year in flowering season.  There are 2 gorgeous baobabs just after the heritage archway and the seed pods are to be found all around them.  Help yourself!

Baobab seen in many places in Gujarat,here is proof!Its known as "Rukhdo tree"in local term.
